Upon Arrival at Incheon International Airport (ICN)

If you need any assistance after arriving at Incheon International Airport (ICN), simply ask an Airport Information Officer, an Immigration Officer,
a Customs Officer, or any Korean nearby to call me. Most Koreans are kind and willing to help foreign visitors.

If necessary, I will personally explain the purpose of your visit in Korean to Immigration Officers, Customs Officers, airport staff, transportation personnel,
or other relevant people, and do my best to help resolve any unexpected situation.

Since 1993, we have welcomed trainees from more than 30 countries. During those years, we have successfully assisted trainees with visa matters,
airport procedures, transportation, language barriers, lost belongings, health-related situations, and many other unexpected travel issues.

Please do not worry if this is your first visit to Korea. I will do my best to assist you until you safely arrive at your hotel or the John Korea Training Center.

Mobile Phone (USIM / eSIM)

After arriving at Incheon International Airport, you can purchase a Korean prepaid USIM or eSIM for your mobile phone if needed.

Where to Buy

Korean prepaid USIM and eSIM services are available at the service counters of SK Telecom (SKT), KT, and LG U+, located in the Arrival Halls (1st Floor) of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Free Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout Incheon International Airport.

Our Recommendation

To save time and avoid waiting in line, we recommend purchasing an eSIM online before departing for Korea. You will receive a QR code by email and can activate your eSIM immediately after arrival.

Please make sure that your mobile phone supports eSIM before purchasing one.

If your mobile phone is SIM-locked by your mobile carrier, a Korean USIM may not work. Please check with your mobile carrier before traveling to Korea.

Stay in Touch

Once your phone has been activated, please send me a WhatsApp message or call me so that we can contact each other easily during your stay in Korea.

Having a working mobile phone will make communication much easier during your stay in Korea, especially if you need directions, transportation assistance, or any help before or after your training.

T-money Transportation Card

We recommend purchasing a T-money Card at the airport. It can be used on:

Subway
City buses
Airport buses
Many taxis
Most convenience stores

Where to Buy: We highly recommend purchasing a T-money Card at the airport. It is available at airport convenience stores such as CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, and emart24 .
Where to Use: Subway, City buses, Airport limousine buses, Many taxis, and Most convenience stores.
Critical Note (Cash Only): While you can buy the physical card with a credit card, recharging/topping up the card balance can ONLY be done with Cash (Korean Won, KRW) . Please withdraw or exchange some cash at the airport ATM/exchange booth beforehand.

Airport Limousine Bus

We recommend taking Airport Limousine Bus No. 6017, bound for Seoul National University. The bus stops near both WD Hotel and the John Korea Training Center.

For WD Hotel: Get off at Sillim Station.
For the John Korea Training Center: Get off at Bongcheon Station, one stop after Sillim Station.

Bus Fare: Approximately KRW 17,000 (about US$12) Travel Time: Approximately 80 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Taxi

If you have heavy luggage, arrive late at night, or simply prefer a more convenient trip, you may take a taxi directly from Incheon International Airport.

Estimated Fare: Approximately KRW 90,000–130,000 (about US$70–100), depending on traffic conditions, toll charges, and the time of day. Travel Time: Approximately 45–60 minutes. For first-time visitors, the International Taxi Service is also recommended. English-speaking drivers are available, and the service is supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Subway (Metro)

If you prefer the subway instead of the Airport Limousine Bus or a taxi, you may travel from Incheon International Airport by the Airport Railroad (AREX) and transfer to Subway Line 2 (Green Line).

Nearest Stations

Sillim Station (Line 2) – for WD Hotel
Bongcheon Station (Line 2) – for the John Korea Training Center

Case 1. Incheon International Airport → WD Hotel / John Korea Training Center

Route

Take the Airport Railroad (AREX) toward Seoul and transfer to Subway Line 2 (Green Line).

For WD Hotel: Get off at Sillim Station (Line 2).
For the John Korea Training Center: Get off at Bongcheon Station (Line 2), one station after Sillim.

Fare Approximately KRW 4,500–5,000 using a T-money Card (depending on the route and transfer). Travel Time Approximately 90–110 minutes, including the transfer. Recommendation For first-time visitors to Korea, we recommend the Airport Limousine Bus No. 6017, because it is simpler, more comfortable, and requires no subway transfer.

Case 2. WD Hotel ↔ John Korea Training Center

Route Take Subway Line 2 (Green Line).

WD Hotel: Sillim Station
John Korea Training Center: Bongcheon Station

The two stations are only one stop apart. Fare Approximately KRW 1,550 with a T-money Card (adult base fare).

Travel Time Approximately 2 minutes by subway. Walking Time

WD Hotel → Sillim Station: about 2–3 minutes

Bongcheon Station → John Korea Training Center: about 5–8 minutes

Total journey time is approximately 10–15 minutes, including walking.

Essential Apps for Your Trip to Korea

Google Maps and global ride-hailing apps do not work perfectly in Korea due to local data regulations. We highly recommend downloading these English-supported apps before your departure:

Navigation & Maps: Naver Map or KakaoMap
- Why: Google Maps does not provide accurate walking or public transit directions in Korea. Naver and Kakao are the absolute gold standards for finding paths, subway schedules, and restaurants.
Ride-Hailing (Taxi): Kakao T or UT (Uber)
- Why: Street-hailing taxis can be difficult if you don't speak Korean. Kakao T is the most popular, and UT allows you to use your existing Uber app seamlessly to call official Korean taxis.
Translation: Papago
- Why: While Google Translate is fine, Papago (developed by Naver) is far more accurate for Korean nuances, honorifics, and image-based text translation (like menus or signs).

Tipping

Unlike in some countries, such as the United States, tipping is not customary in Korea.
You are not expected to tip taxi drivers, hotel staff, restaurant staff, or other service personnel.
